I am most appreciative of how Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance has helped in my gardening, which has been one of my main activities in retirement. The forms, exercises and movements I have learned in class have greatly improved my balance and stability in bending, carrying, reaching, planting, weeding, stooping, pruning and clearing. I also more easily retain my equilibrium in places of my yard where I have had trouble maintaining my balance in the past. Although I do other exercises on my own and have attended other types of fitness classes, the TJQ course has been the most effective in enabling me to maintain my desired activity level at 77 years of age without fear of falling or injury.

The instructor "has kept us engaged long enough to feel, experience a real difference in our confidence with movement. This class has literally made a difference in how we support each other."

I was walking with a friend yesterday in a heavily rooted area and I was able to right myself quickly while she almost fell. I told her about the Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance program at our senior center and that she needed to call to sign up for the class immediately to help with her balance!

The welcome and outreach from the MSC to LGBT people has been wonderful. I have learned many new things, made new friends, and have a greater understanding of what the area senior centers offer in services and support.
