Live Well with Diabetes is a an interactive 6-week workshop for individuals with diabetes or prediabetes and/or their caregivers. Participants will learn how to manage diabetes using tools and resources learned in the workshop. Each session is 2 1/2 hours in length and participants will learn action planning, decision making, and problem solving. Topics covered include nutrition, physical activity, proper foot care, blood sugar control, and how to deal with stress and emotions. Originally developed at Stanford University, this evidence-based program is beneficial in helping individuals take control of their diabetes. This workshop is brought to you by the Pomperaug District Department of Health and the Naugatuck Valley Health Department.
Dates: Wednesdays, Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Sept. 25, Oct. 2, Oct. 9 and Oct. 16, 2019 from 6:00-8:30 PM
